Outdoor Fun

Clara Miller

As the weather is warming up, more fun activities are taking place outside. At the end of May, everyone went to Horn Pond for a picnic. The weather was perfect and it was a great day to spend outside. People played group games. One of the games was they passed the ball and then whoever had the ball would sing a song. They also played ring toss, chatted, read books, and had a walk around the pond. Then for lunch they had watermelon, Subway sandwiches and ate ice cream. Overall it was a lovely day that everyone enjoyed and is excited to do again in the future.

Father’s Day was celebrated at the center the Friday before the day. It started out like any other day, with prayer and exercise. Then after snack everyone went outside to play a game of Cricket. It was the men vs. the women in a friendly game. One group started in the field with the other group batting, then swapped. For the special lunch that day everyone had Subway sandwiches, chips, and soda. The men at the center received back scratchers and passport holders. Everyone got chocolates. In the afternoon participants shared some stories and thoughts of the fathers in their lives. Then everyone played a good game of bocce ball.
