Shri Krishna Janmashtami, the birth of Lord Krishna was celebrated with full enthusiasm at Evergreen on August 30th, 2021.
The day began with prayers, chanting of Bhajans, Aarti and Shlokas which charged the atmosphere with positivity. The idol of Lord Shri Krishna sparkled with shining clothes, glaring mukut and ornaments the site of which filled up the hearts of participants with devotion.
The euphoria of participants kept growing as the day progressed. They together participated in the skit. They presented Krishna Leela where one participant portrayed as Lord Krishna and rest all played the important characters such as his doting mother Yashodha and Gopis. The Gopis come to Yashodha complaining about Krishna and his friends stealing butter from their homes. Behind all these complaints lies the hidden love Krishna in hearts of Gopis who find excuses to get one glimpse of Krishna at his home. It was beautiful display of love and friendships in all relationships Krishna created around him.
This was followed by Dahi Handi. Participants were thrilled to see nutritious and healthy treats pouring out of Handi in the form of prasad for everyone. Participants thoroughly, celebrated the whole day with great fervor and zeal.
