GANESH CHATURTHI AND VISARJAN

The word Ganesha comprises the root word Gana meaning ‘series, class, body of attendants’ and Isha meaning ‘Lord, ruler, or sovereign’. The chant Om Shri Ganeshaya Namah is for calling auspicious energies whenever starting something new. Ganesha is the god of auspiciousness, new beginnings, success, and wisdom and removes all the hurdles; thus, known as Vighnharta - the remover of obstacles. He is also the son of Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati.

Ganesh Chaturthi is also known as Vinayaka Chaturthi is one of the common Hindu festivals celebrated throughout India with great devotion.

The festivities began on Sep 10,2021 at Evergreen ADHC with the initiation ceremony which was attended by our participants and staff members as Lord Ganesha was welcomed in joyful procession. The procession was marked by chants ‘Ganpati Bappa Morya’ and devotional songs/Bhajans by all the participants. During the course of next 5 days participants congregated every day in the morning for special spiritual pooja and prayers like Chanting, Bhajans and Aarti.

On the last day, participants bid a farewell to Lord Ganesha only with the request to return sooner next year. Participants prayed to the Lord to fill their lives with auspiciousness and positivity.
