India's Independence Day Celebration

On Sunday, August 15th it was India’s 75th Independence Day. Evergreen Adult Day Health Center celebrated by having a flag raising in Woburn center. The day commemorates the end of 190 years of British rule in India. The flag raising was a lovely day where folks could go to the center and see India’s flag be raised and honored. The next day at the center the celebration lived on. That day participants continued the celebration by having a parade that went through the center and into the parking lot. They were all joyously walking with a big flag leading and everyone else following were waving little flags as they went. Back in the center participants then told stories and tales of India and reminisced in experiences. Everyone had so much fun during those days and enjoyed being able to celebrate together.
